~about wearing boystyle~

So, wie „Goths just wanna have fun“, es nennt: „2011 –the year of the Dandy?“.

In my last post you saw my boystyle themed birthday party. I've got the feeling that Dandy and Kodona, the male part of Lolita fashion is becoming more and more popular.
Just as "Goth just wanna have fun" named it: "2011 - the year of the Dandy?" She also does a very good introduction of the theme calling it the "Kodona-code".
Well, I just want to give you a short overview on the theme, mostly with some photos:
In Lolita fashion there are mostly only two male sub styles: Dandy and Kodona. I prefer referring to them as Classic and sweet Lolita, because Dandy is the more sophisticated and adult version while Kodona is more the cute and innocent style.
I think Kodona (or ouji - prince) is the simpler style of them both, and it's also mostly worn by girls, maybe because it's a very cute style.
A Kodona outfit mostly consists of short pants (the best are knickers, I think), a blouse and a vest. Add some knee-highs and a cute hat or a little crown and you've got your little prince.
The dandy's outfit is a bit more complicated but the main difference between them is in my opinion that dandy's wear long trousers and mostly also a frock. Also the accessories are not cute but adult: walking stick, top hat, pocket watch, gloves, and so on.

In my opinion pictures will show you the difference better:
(I want to thank Fuck yeah Kodona for her pictures! Her tumblr is really great and you can find her on dA under Noideaforausername. I also want to thank Mary--Sue , fatally-sweet  and Kurogane for their permission to use their pictures! And my friend Fauryn, who is imho a really great example of Kodona style)

I only used pictures for which I had the permission, that's why you don't find pictures for the bibles for example, but you can find the scans on the page of Avant Gauche.
